Emily joins IC as the Local Network Manager — Colorado. We are excited for her to join our team and look forward to great things to come in Boulder-Denver! Get to know Emily below & please welcome her to the IC community!
IC: You’re already familiar with IC. What do you enjoy most about the IC community?
Emily: I’m excited to connect and engage with IC investors locally and across the network. I’m passionate about supporting social entrepreneurs and learning about new investment opportunities in Colorado. We have a unique group of investors in Colorado that care about investing their time and energy to creating a powerful impact investing ecosystem locally with a global reach.
IC: What excites you about what’s happening locally in Colorado right now?
Emily: What’s not exciting about what’s happening locally in Colorado right now? The Colorado community celebrates entrepreneurship, innovation, and policy as meaningful ways to achieve meaningful social change. I’m busier in Colorado attending impact events and supporting thought leaders here than I ever was in NYC, where I’m originally from. Often, I have to fight for a seat in the front row at events.
IC: Share a fun fact about yourself.
Emily: I co-founded an impact investing and social entrepreneur YP group last spring, Do Gooders Inc. Our goal is to get young people into the impact investing space in Colorado so that they can support each other’s career paths, engage in thought leadership, and learn about investment opportunities.
IC: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Emily: I love horses. I grew up riding horses in NYC and spent summers working on Dude Ranches in Wyoming. I try to plan a trip every year that involves horseback riding. Last year I went to Iceland to ride Icelandic horses and this year I went to Arizona to ride western.
